David Faustino is "Star-ving," Will the "Married with Children" Star Win a Streamy?

The Streamy Awards are taking place this Sunday, April 11 and will honor the best in Web TV.

Yes, online digital content isn't just a hobby anymore but an actual living and breathing industry. It's also a place where many traditional personalities and stars are now putting their own content to the test, instead of waiting for the networks to do so.

Former, "Married With Children Star," David Faustino, is one of many familiar faces experimenting with the web. His series, Star-ving (Warning: Graphic language and content), on Sony's Crackle.com follows his life 10 years after sitcom success, complete with a fellow child star sidekick (Corin Nemec), outlandish scenarios and cameos from stars like Alan Thicke and Gilbert Gottfried.

I must admit, each uncensored and wacky 10-minute or so episode had me laughing. It's obviously done well with the online viewers too, being nominated in the Streamy's Audience Choice category. Fans can go online to vote for the show now, which is competing against other popular web originals like "The Guild," "The Young Turks" and "The Totally Rad Show," among others.

According to Faustino, it wasn't so easy getting his fellow celebs on board. "These people don't make a lot of money doing a guest spot on a web show. It wasn't easy, but it was really a testament to the material."

So what's the best part of making web TV? "The creative freedom," says Faustino. "We were pretty much able to do or say whatever we wanted. What's the shitty part? "The paycheck."

Disclosure: I am also a Streamy nominee in the "Best Vlogger" category. Wish me luck!
