David Cameron defends pregnant Kate, Duchess of Cambridge
(CBS News) Britain's prime minister is defending the Duchess of Cambridge, after some nasty comments by a celebrated English author.
In a speech earlier this month, Hilary Mantel called the former Kate Middleton, "a shop window mannequin" whose only role in life is to breed. Supporters say Mantel's words were taken out of context.
But on Tuesday, David Cameron called the remarks "wrong" and "misguided." He said, "I've seen ... Kate in her public duties and at the Olympics and, from what I can see, she is bright, she's engaging, she's a great character, she's a brilliant ambassador for Britain and that's something I think everyone should celebrate."
