"For any actor, you look for as much diversity and variation as you can," Radcliffe said on "CBS This Morning." "I wanted to do something different that people haven't seen and show another side of me. I look very different in this film, a lot older. People haven't seen me in something like this before, so I think, you know, I'm excited for people to see that."
Radcliffe also recently starred in the Broadway musical, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." His run recently ended, and he saw the show with its new star, Nick Jonas, on Monday night.
"It was amazing to sit and watch what we came up with in rehearsal, suddenly, a year later, in somebody else's hands, still running it. It was just a feeling of immense pride. Yeah, it was fantastic, and I had a great time last night. It was -- just the curtain went up and I just started crying. I don't cry very often, apart when I miss people. But when I saw everyone - I haven't seen for like three weeks - just dancing and being brilliant, I was very emotional."
Radcliffe said he hopes to appear on Broadway in the future.
