"Dancing with the Stars": Who went home first?
Tuesday was the end of the road for one "Dancing with the Stars" couple, but the night's elimination episode did not go as planned.
Last week, everyone was safe from elimination. This time, the bottom two dancers were boxer Victor Ortiz and reality TV personality Lisa Vanderpump.
So, which one was booted from the ballroom?
The answer is neither of them. It was figure skater Dorothy Hamill, who withdrew from the competition on the advice of her spinal surgeon.
"I have an injury that could be irreparable, and nerve damage, and it would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home," the 56-year-old explained. "I can't do what I need to and, you know, the rest of life is physical, as an athlete, is important."
"I wish I could give it my all, but I can't," she said. "It's been a wonderful ride."
Hamill and partner Tristan MacManus' departures mean the bottom two couples are safe, and will dance again during Monday's prom-themed episode.
