NEW YORK (CBS) With just one dance in the spotlight, David Hasselhoff was eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday after receiving one of the lowest scores from the judges and failing to rally viewers to his side.

The former "Baywatch" and "Knightrider" star, who found himself in the bottom two with Disney star Kyle Massey, was labeled the first celeb axed from the new season of the hit ABC show.

His departure didn't come as a complete surprise since Hasselhoff and his professional partner, Kym Johnson, scored only 15 out of 30 points, the lowest score in the group, with their cha-cha-cha Monday night.

"It's been a great ride," Hasselhoff said upon learning his fate. "I feel bad for Kym because she worked hard trying to get me where I was going. I'm so proud that my daughters are here and they got to see me come this far."

Tuesday's episode also featured performances by India Arie, Daughtry and Santana. Daughtry revealed his season favorite is Michael Bolton, while Santana said he's rooting for former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.

Besides those two and Massey, the remaining competitors include singer Brandy, comedienne Margaret Cho, actors Florence Henderson and Jennifer Grey, former NBA star Rick Fox, "Jersey Shore's" Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Bristol Palin.

Each will continue their quest for the show's mirrorball trophy next Monday.
