Dan Haggerty, star of "Grizzly Adams," dies at 74
Actor Dan Haggerty, star of the TV show "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams," died on Friday after a battle with spine cancer. He was 74.
Haggerty's manager and longtime friend Terry Bomar confirmed the news to CBS2/KCAL9.
Haggerty, who worked as an animal trainer before he became an actor, played Grizzly Adams in both the 1974 film and subsequent TV series from 1977 to 1979.
Bomar said that Haggerty was diagnosed with cancer in August 2015 and was fighting it "aggressively." He was able to spend the holidays with his family before his health deteriorated on Thursday.
Haggerty died surrounded by his loved ones, said Bomar.
