Creepy girl robot head reads music and sings - she's no Beyonce though
(CBS) - Before you go, "Oh I know her" - look again. It's a creepy girl robot head.
At first glance, she'll give you the heebie-jeebies. But once you find out what she can do, she's kind of cool (still creepy though). You see, this robot head can read music and sing.
"The creepy humanoid head can read a simplified music score before singing the song in a synthesised voice," explains NewScientist. "This is a somewhat disconcerting experience, but its developers are happy enough with their invention to claim that a collection of these singing heads could one day form part of a robotic theatre troupe."
Okay, so she's no Beyonce, but the hope is that this technology can one day help replace receptionists at restaurants and what-not.
I don't know about you, but if I ever saw this girl robot head anywhere, I'd head for the hills.
