Concern grows over spate of highway shootings in Oklahoma
TULSA COUNTY, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating more shootings along Highway 75, reports CBS Tulsa affiliate KOTV.
Sunday night, five vehicles were hit by bullets between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Monday night, KOTV got a tip about more shootings on that highway. The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office confirmed it's looking into the additional incidents, but gave no more details.
Sunday night, some of the trucks hit were going to the same location, the Ochelata Walmart Distribution Center. The drivers said they heard something hit their trucks, but didn't realize the trucks had been shot.
One driver noticed four bullet holes on the driver's side of his rig.
A Walmart spokesperson said the company doesn't believe its trucks were targeted because a passenger car and a Swift trucking rig were also struck.
In all, 13 bullets hit five vehicles Sunday night.
Deputies consider the crime assault with a deadly weapon and will continue to investigate.
