"Conan the Barbarian" releases a new, bloody scene

(CBS) "Conan the Barbarian" released a red band clip this week, showing a young Conan engaged in a bloody battle.

The violent clip shows the young Conan (Leo Howard) taking part in a challenge organized by his father (Ron Perlman), which ends in him single-handedly taking on three menacing warriors.

The reboot of the 1980s film franchise stars Jason Momoa ("Game of Thrones") in the title role originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The film opens in theaters on Aug. 19.
