Colorado woman missing after death of son, Air Force cadet
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Bad weather and lack of leads are hampering the search for a Colorado Springs woman who disappeared after the death of her son, an Air Force Academy cadet.
Capt. Steve Oswald of the Colorado Springs Fire Department said Friday that fire and police crews and volunteers searched Wednesday and Thursday for Ksenia Quiros, who was last seen at home Wednesday. Her truck was found near an open space that was the focus of the search.
Oswald says volunteers searched Friday in heavy snow. He says police and fire crews will pursue any sightings or clues.
CBS affiliate KKTV reports Quiros' husband says she left her purse behind when she left home Wednesday.
Senior cadet Alexandre Quiros, who was 21, died in his dorm room on April 2. The cause of death hasn't been released. The academy says the inquiry into the death isn't a criminal investigation.
Ksenia Quiros is described as being in her mid-40s, 5'2" tall and 110 pounds with blue eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police.
