Colo. town official charged with murder in death of woman

GREELEY, Colo. -- A town board member from Pierce, Colorado, and a group of bikers are charged in the presumed death of a missing woman.

The Greeley Tribune reports that Daniel Meyer and four other people have been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and violent crime causing death. They appeared in Weld District Court on Wednesday, where their cases were continued.

Court documents accuse Meyer of killing Tera Lewandowski sometime between Sept. 29 and Sept. 30. Her body has not been found.

Court documents say Meyer told Weld County sheriff's officials he killed Lewandowski after a hit was approved by his biker gang leader over an argument about drugs. His attorneys declined comment.

Meyer is listed as a trustee on the Pierce Town Board. A town official was not available for comment.
