Clinton hires Sanders' top student organizer
Hillary Clinton's campaign is expanding its efforts to appeal to millennial voters with a spate of new hires, including Bernie Sanders' national director of student organizing, Kunoor Ojha.
Ohja, according to a Clinton campaign aide, will be focused on expanding Clinton's campus engagement. Ohja was also Sanders' New Hampshire campus director. After Clinton won Iowa, Sanders prevailed in New Hampshire, where voters from 18-29 years of age supported Sanders over Clinton by an enormous margin, with 83 percent, compared to 16 percent for Clinton, according to CBS News exit polling.
The campaign has also hired Anne Hubert from Viacom--she'll be advising on multiplatform messaging, outreach and producing content for younger voters. She has also worked in development and programming for MTV and mtvU, MTV's college network.
Sarah Audelo, who used to be the political director for Rock the Vote is joining the campaign as youth vote director -- she'll be focusing on millennial organizing efforts. Before Rock the Vote, she worked on progressive issue-based organizing and policy at Generation Progress and Advocates for Youth.
The Clinton campaign's millennial engagement team plans to do a listening tour of millennial voters--students, parents, workers and organizers -- to keep the campaign apprised of the issues that concern these voters the most.
