Chris Evans named Hollywood's best actor for the buck in 2016
Chris Evans is a good bet.
That’s what Forbes is saying, at least, in its latest ranking of actors who bring the most box office returns for their salaries. Evans brought in an average of $135.80 in for every $1 he was paid, thanks to “Captain America: Civil War,” which took in $1 billion at the box office. This is the second year in a row Evans was named Hollywood’s best bang for the buck.
Evans was followed closely by another popular Chris -- Pratt. The “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor brought studios a return of $125.40 for every dollar he was paid.
Scarlett Johansson, who came in at no. 3, was the best value actress on the list, bringing in $88.60 for every dollar paid thanks to “Lucy” and Marvel movies. Other stars on the biggest bang for the buck list included Mila Kunis, Vin Diesel, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lawrence.
But Johnny Depp is having a rough year, and not just because of his acrimonious and expensive divorce from Amber Heard. The actor was named most overpaid actor in Hollywood for the second year in a row. Depp brought in just $2.80 for every dollar he was paid. Will Smith came in second with a $5 return on every $1 he was paid. Other A-list stalwarts like Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio were also ranked among the top 10 overpaid stars.
