Chris Daughtry Talks Twins in TV Performance

NEW YORK (CBS) "American Idol" alumnus Chris Daughtry spoke about the impending birth of twins when he performed on "Today" in New York on Friday morning.

He and his wife Deanna announced in May that they were expecting twins from a surrogate in November. They have a daughter from Deanna's previous marriage and an adopted son.

On the morning TV show, the season five "Idol " finalist and his bandy performed several songs, including September, which he has said is about growing up and moving on.

He took to his Twitter account during the show, posting a picture around 8 a.m. ET with the caption "I'm watching you guys in the crowd ."

After the show ended, he posted a tweet, saying, "That was fun!!! Thanks again for your dedication and getting up so early to hang with us!!! Love yall "
