(CBS) - Singer Chris Brown trashed his dressing room at "Good Morning America" and broke a window with a chair Tuesday after co-host Robin Roberts asked him about his attack on Rihanna during a live interview, according to ABC News.

Brown was interviewed by Roberts from the show's Times Square studio to promote his new album "F.A.M.E." But Brown was apparently caught off guard when he found himself discussing the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend - instead of promoting his new album.

When Roberts asked about the loosening of a restraining order Rihanna has against Brown, he responded uncomfortably saying, "It is not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation I am past that in my life and today is the album day so that is what I am focused on."

When the interview was done Brown stormed into his dressing room yelling so loudly that the people in hair and makeup called security, TMZ reported.

The singer then reportedly smashed a window in his dressing room, causing some glass shards to fall onto the street below.

In a statement, ABC News said: "As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown."

Brown is currently on probation in the felony assault case involving Rihanna.
