(CBS) R&B singer Chris Brown launched into a fit of rage in his dressing room at "Good Morning America" Tuesday shattering a window, destroying his dressing room and ripping his shirt off in the heat of the moment after anchor Robin Roberts questioned the singer about his assault on Rihanna, reports TMZ.

Brown was interviewed by Roberts live from the show's Times Square studio to promote his new album "F.A.M.E." But Brown was caught off guard when instead of talking about the album he found himself discussing what happened on the night of the 2009 Grammy's with then-girlfriend Rihanna.

When Roberts asked about the loosening of a restraining order Rihanna has against Brown, he responded uncomfortably saying, " It is not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation I am past that in my life and today is the album day so that is what I am focused on."

When the interview was done Brown stormed into his dressing room yelling so loudly that the people in hair and makeup called security, reported TMZ.

The singer then reportedly smashed a window in his dressing room and some glass shards even fell onto the street at 43rd and Broadway. ABC security told TMZ the window was shattered with a chair.

When Brown was on his way out of the building he got into the segment producer's face and stared him down, and other staff from the show had to get in-between the two of them, reports the website.

Brown is currently on probation in the felony assault case involving Rihanna.
