(CBS/AP) DRESDEN, Tenn. - It's a different kind of police sweep.

Bobby Pate, the former chief of police in McKenzie, Tenn., is accused of stealing city property, including a tractor and two street sweepers.

The Jackson Sun reports Pate, 64, was arrested Tuesday on theft and official misconduct charges.

Pate was indicted after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation searched his property and reportedly discovered missing items that included a John Deere Tractor, two street sweepers and two laptop computers.

The items were valued at over $10,000 and went missing while Pate was chief of the northwest Tennessee town between 2010 and the end of 2012.

Pate is free on a $5,000 bond. He's due in court on June 13.
