Chicago Sends Trefilov to Flames


The Chicago Blackhawks traded minor-league goaltender Andrei Trefilov to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday for future considerations.

Trefilov has spent the season with the Indianapolis Ice of the International Hockey League, going 9-6-2 with a 2.37 goals-against average. He played in one game for Chicago, losing to Buffalo 6-1 on Nov. 14.

  • Trefilov was acquired by the Blackhawks from Buffalo last season. He played in six games for Chicago during 1997-98.

    He also played for the Russian Olympic team that won a silver medal last February.
