Chaz Bono makes media rounds for documentary
(CBS) Chaz Bono has been making the media rounds this week to discuss his transition from female to male, which was chronicled for the documentary "Becoming Chaz."
On Monday, Bono, who was born Chastity Bono to singer-actors Sonny Bono and Cher, appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to talk about his journey, before "Becoming Chaz" aired on Winfrey's OWN network that next evening.
Bono has also visited "The View," "Late Show with David Letterman" and will appear on "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Friday.
During his appearance on the "Late Show," Bono, 42, told Letterman that going through puberty was a difficult time for him.
"I really felt like my body was betraying me," he said. "It was doing exactly the opposite of what I wanted to do. And from that point on, I was pretty uncomfortable."
Letterman also asked how Bono's mother has dealt with his transition from female to male.
"It's been a process," he admitted. "It's been a process for her. But I think she's becoming more and more comfortable."
"I watched her on your show when she was here for 'Burlesque,'" Bono told Letterman, "and she actually said 'he' a few times. Which was the first time that I'd heard that. So that really meant a lot to me."
