Charlie Kay Ely, teen girl, gets life sentence for Fla. killing of Seath Tyler Jackson
(CBS) - Florida teenage girl Charlie Kay Ely was given a sentence of life in prison without parole Monday, for her role in the April murder of 15-year-old Seath Tyler Jackson in April.

Ely is one of five teens and young adults accused of participating in the boy's murder. She was convicted in September.Jackson's mother addressed the court and Ely Monday, before the sentence was read, reports The Ocala Star Banner.
"Some say your life is over. (But) You will still see and talk to your family. You will still get letters and birthday cards. You will still laugh and cry," Sonia Jackson said, never looking toward Ely.
Jackson spoke softly, according to the paper.
"I have no sympathy for the tears you shed. They have not been for Seath, but rather for what's happened to you," she said. "You could have been a hero and saved many lives."
After Jackson's statements the 19-year-old Ely was sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison in addition to a $5,000 fine, the newspaper reported.
The others charged with first degree murder in connection to the killing are Michael Bargo, 19, Justin Soto, 20, Kyle Hooper, 17 and Amber Wright, 15, who are all still awaiting trial.
Authorities say Seath was lured to Ely's Summerfield home, 60 miles north of Orlando, where he was beaten, tied up and shot. According to arrest reports, Seath's body was burned and his remains were placed into buckets and tossed into a lime pit.
According to the Star Banner, prosecutors have said that they will seek the death penalty against Bargo, who is alleged to have been the mastermind of the murder plot.
