Charles Manson Follower Bruce Davis Denied Parole by Calif. Gov. Schwarzenegger

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS/AP) California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has rejected a recommendation to parole a member of Charles Manson's cult who was convicted of taking part in killings more than 40 years ago.

Bruce Davis is serving life sentences for two 1969 slayings, although he was not involved in the infamous Los Angeles murders of actress Sharon Tate and six others by Manson followers.

He was convicted of helping kill musician Gary Hinman and former stuntman Donald "Shorty" Shea, who lived in Manson's commune.

Schwarzenegger said in a letter made public Monday that he is reversing a January decision by the state parole board because the murders were "especially heinous."

He says the 67-year-old Davis might still be dangerous.
