The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver, also commonly known as Chad Ochocinco, was charged by the State Attorney's Office in Broward County, Fla. with misdemeanor battery after his arrest last month.

Adam Swickle, Johnson's attorney, entered the plea. Johnson was not present.

He could get up to a year behind bars if convicted.
