Celebs pay tribute to "Pretty Woman" director Garry Marshall
Iconic film and television director Garry Marshall died on Tuesday due to complications from pneumonia, and a slew of actors and filmmakers who worked with the screen legend are sharing their love, support and condolences on social media.
Henry Winkler, who starred as the incomparable cool guy Fonzie on Marshall's sitcom, "Happy Days," paid tribute to his friend and shared his appreciation.
"GARRY MARSHALL Rest In Peace .. Thank you for my professional life. Thank you for your loyalty , friendship and generosity," Winkler tweeted.
Yvette Nicole Brown, who stars on the CBS sitcom "The Odd Couple," based off Marshall's original screen adaptation of the Neil Simon play, also thanked Marshall for the impact he's had on her life.
"I will never be the same," Brown tweeted. "I can't even put into words what #GarryMarshall has meant to my life. I am just heartbroken. #RIP kind Sir."
Zelda Williams, daughter of the late Robin Williams, shared her thoughts, thanking Marshall for giving her dad his breakthrough role in the 1978 "Happy Days" spin-off, "Mork & Mindy."
"Garry Marshall gave me one of the best experiences I ever had in my career," Seinfeld alum Jason Alexander, who starred in Marshall's iconic 1990 film, "Pretty Woman," wrote on Twitter. "Thanks pal. RIP."
