Caught on tape: Cain adviser smoking outside TV show taping (Video)

CBS News caught Herman Cain adviser Mark Block taking a smoke break during the candidate's appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday.

Block is infamous for taking a long drag on a cigarette in a Cain campaign video that instantly went viral.

CBS News' Bob Schieffer asked Cain about the impact of that image in a recent appearance on "Face the Nation." Cain defended the ad, but also said smoking cigarettes "is not a cool thing to do."

"Mark Block is a smoker. We say, let Mark be Mark," Cain said in that appearance. Regardless, Cain and Block are said to have a deal that if he wins the presidential election, Block will kick the habit.

Cain may have to strike such deals with the rest of the campaign. More than one Cain staffer appears to be smoking in the footage to the left shot by CBS News/National Journal campaign reporter Lindsey Boerma.

His isn't the first campaign to battle smoking either. In 2008, Barack Obama is also said to have promised his wife he'd quit when he decided to run (he quit in 2010).
