Casey Anthony Update: Officer Suspended for Allegedly Passing Notes

ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS/WKMG) An Orange County correctional officer, Sylvia Hernandez, has been suspended with pay for allegedly passing notes between accused child killer Casey Anthony and another inmate.

According to jail and court records, there were more than 50 notes totaling 258 pages passed between Anthony and Robyn Adams, a now-convicted drug dealer.

The prison's rules state that it is against policy to pass notes among inmates in the protective custody section of the jail.

The content of the notes is to remain sealed until Anthony's attorneys decide whether or not to request that any portion of the messages be withheld from the public. Although they do not constitute a confession, the state's attorney believes that some of the letters are pertinent to the case and should be admissible in court, says CBS affiliate WKMG.

There was no comment made as to whether or not Anthony and Adams will be punished for breaking prison rules. The investigation into Hernandez's involvement is pending.
