"Carpool Karaoke" with James Corden gets primetime special
NEW YORK-- It has been a year since James Corden took over the reigns as host of ”The Late Late Show” on CBS.
Since then the funny man has been making audiences laugh with his Carpool Karaoke skits, now due to their overwhelming popularity, Corden is getting his own special.
“I’ll make your TV shine brighter than a halo, all leading up to a carpool with J-Lo. Primetime tonight, we’ll give you something great,” he said.
As CBS New York reported, “The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special” airs Tuesday night and will highlight some of the best show moments from the past year.
The phenomenon of singing in a car while driving it all started with Mariah Carey, but Corden said he has had many memorable moments.
“Elton John. You’d just never think you’d be in this situation where you’re singing these songs that you’ve sung in the car on your own so many times that you would be with the artist who created them,” he said.
Adele’s performance holds the record of most-watched late night clips with over almost 90 million views on YouTube.
“I have a sort of stranger memory where I am able to remember songs, I think,” Corden said.
On Tuesday, Jenny from the block will be going for a spin.
“She let me go through her phone, and I can text any person in her phone and boy did I!” Corden said.
Robe Crabbe, executive producer of “The Late Late Show,” said he is thrilled to introduce a primetime audience to all of the fun they have every night after midnight.
