Carlee Jade Morse Murdered: Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Missing Mich. 16-Year-Old
DETROIT (CBS/WWJ) A guilty plea has been entered in the murder case of 16-year-old Carlee Jade Morse, who was reported missing on Aug. 19.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Nicholas Cottrell pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of the teen from Westland, a Detroit suburb.
Cottrell, who will be sentenced later this month, could receive 25 to 50 years in jail.
According to CBS affiliate WWJ, Cottrell also testified at a preliminary hearing for 19-year-old Justin Yoshikawa, who is also charged with premeditated murder in the case.
Police say Morse's body has not been found.
Cottrell's mother is also facing charges for being an accessory after the fact. She's due in court next week.
