Cameron Diaz "burst into tears" after getting short haircut
(CBS News) Cameron Diaz has been rocking a short, chin-length haircut since the beginning of the year, but the actress explained to "The Tonight Show" host Jay Leno that the cut wasn't her own personal styling choice.
According to Us Weekly, Diaz visited her friend's house before Christmas for a quick trim, but the star told Leno, "There was a little misunderstanding. I said I just want a little bit cut off and it went from here to here."
The actress continued, saying she couldn't help but "burst into tears. I started crying. I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair...oh my God!"
The 39-year-old Diaz said her friend "felt really bad" about cutting a significant amount of her blonde locks off.
"She started crying. I started crying. A couple other people started crying," she joked. "I ended up writing her a few e-mails over the next few days assuring her I was OK."
Diaz's next film "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is scheduled to be released May 18.
