On Monday, the Kennedy Center pays tribute to Beatle John Lennon at a musical celebration titled "Come Together," hosted by David Duchovny.

Tuesday is National Teacher Day, a day for recognizing the dedication and hard work of our teachers.

On Wednesday an assignment for students: It's National Bike or Walk to School Day, with events around the country encouraging kids to get to school under their own power.
Thursday's the night for the Ball for the Mall in Washington, a benefit for the National Mall, which sponsors say requires $840 million in deferred maintenance and necessary upgrades.

On Friday, TV producer Norman Lear, the creator of "All In the Family," among other shows, receives the Woody Guthrie Prize in a ceremony at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
