Caitlyn Jenner settles lawsuit with woman involved in car accident
Caitlyn Jenner has settled a lawsuit with a woman involved in a fatal car crash in February in Malibu, California.
ET reports that Jessica Steindorff has settled a personal injury and property damage lawsuit with Jenner's insurance company. Sources say the insurance company paid for the damages. Steindorff's lawsuit claimed she suffered loss of work wages. She also asked for compensation for hospital and medical expenses.
On Feb. 7, Jenner was involved in the multi-vehicle crash. Kim Howe, 69, was killed after her car was pushed into oncoming traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway. Officials said Howe had hit her brakes after a Prius driven by Steindorff stopped in front of her. Jenner rear-ended Howe's car, causing her to go into oncoming traffic.
Prosecutors didn't charge Jenner, saying there was not enough evidence for a conviction.
In September, during a visit to the "Today" show, Jenner said, "I remember it happening. That's about it. A tragedy like this, you'll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can."
In the wake of the accident, Jenner released a statement saying, "It is a devastating tragedy. I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them."
