Casino bus crashes into building in NYC
NEW YORK -- Several people are hurt after a bus crashed into a building in Queens causing major structural damage, reports CBS New York.
The incident took place at around 2:24 p.m. in Rego Park, a neighborhood in Queens one of New York's outer boroughs.
Five people were abroad the Resorts World Casino bus at the the time of the crash. The driver of the bus was trapped after the crash, but was removed sometime later, reports CBS New York. A person inside the building was also injured.
CBS New York reports six people were injured, according to fire officials, though the extent of their injuries and conditions are not yet known.
The building sustained significant structural damage. It houses a law office and apartments. A gray car parked nearby was also struck.
CBS New York reports that the casino bus was traveling north when it lost control and careened into the corner of the building, according to officials.
Multiple emergency responders responded to the scene. Officials are working on a plan to remove the bus.
