Burglary foiled after suspect falls through ceiling into Calif. apartment
(CBS) SAN FRANCISCO - A San Francisco resident got an early morning wake up call when a suspected bank burglar fell through the ceiling and into the person's bedroom, reports CBS San Francisco.
Police responded to an attempted burglary at the bank around 3:45 a.m. Friday. Police Chief Greg Suhr says the suspect got into the bank through a ventilation shaft, but set off a silent alarm and was spotted by officers as he left.
The station reports the roughly 230-pound suspect was then seen jumping between rooftops in an attempt to escape. He was taken into custody after crashing through an apartment ceiling.
The man hasn't been identified, but Suhr says he lives in the neighborhood.
