Bronx man faces murder charges in deadly machete attack
NEW YORK -- The NYPD has arrested a Bronx man on charges of killing his next-door neighbor on Sunday in the hallway of their apartment building, reports CBS New York.
Angel Feliz, 26, faces charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, reports the station.
Officers were called to the building in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx Sunday afternoon where they found 59-year-old Carmen Torres-Gonzalez with "numerous lacerations to her body."
The apparently unprovoked attack occurred in the hallway outside their fifth-floor apartments, police said.
Police allege Feliz came out of his apartment and attacked the woman with a machete, which has been recovered.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
