Investigators reportedly found the body of Brenna Machus on Thursday in a wooded area on the banks of a river. The discovery was made just a couple of miles east of the Family Dollar store where a shooting and abduction occurred Monday night.

Machus worked as an assistant manager at the store. Her co-worker, Joseph Orlando, was shot to death at the store Monday night and Machus had been missing since. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

According to CBS Detroit, Machus' cell phone and other personal belongings were left at the store, which made authorities believe she was in danger.

Ryan Machus, Brenna's brother, reportedly said it's believed there was an altercation behind the store and his sister opened the door to see what was happening.

He also said several people were recently fired from the store and he suspects the crime might have been an inside job, according to CBS Detroit.

The store's surveillance video captured images of the suspect, who waved as he walked into the Family Dollar store Monday night. Dearborn police hope that someone will recognizes the suspect caught on video, reports the station.

Machus worked for Family Dollar for more than a year at different locations in the Detroit area. Orlando was hired just last week.
