Brandy Sued by DJ for $6 Million, Says Report
NEW YORK (CBS) The R&B singer Brandy has been sued for $6 million by Canadian DJ Marc Mysterio (presumably not his real name), after he claims she didn't deliver on a promise to write and sing "32 bars of music," according to a report.
The lawsuit, filed on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims that Brandy accepted a check for $10,000 from the DJ in July, but never delivered the music, according to celebrity site TMZ.
Mysterio claims he's lost more than $25,000 from Brandy's inaction, says the site.
Mysterio's MySpace page says that he "owns and operates 2 internationally respected [record] labels" and is planning to release his debut album "Redemption."
Brandy is perhaps best-known for her 1998 hit single "The Boy is Mine" and her starring role on the sitcom "Moesha." She appeared as a judge on the first season of "America's Got Talent." In 2006, Brandy was involved in a fatal car accident in Los Angeles that led to a series of civil lawsuits.
