(CBS/AP) LAS VEGAS - Boxer Floyd Mayweather will spend 90 days behind bars after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an assault on his ex-girlfriend in September 2010.

Mayweather, who was accused of punching and threatening his ex-girlfriend and threatening their two children during an argument, could have faced up to 34 years in prison.

According to CBS affiliate KLAS, Mayweather must surrender Jan. 6. He was also sentenced to 100 hours of community service, a $2,500 fine, and 12 months in a long-term domestic violence treatment program.

However, Mayweather's legal troubles are not over. He was arrested in December 2010 after allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old security guard at his housing complex over parking tickets placed on cars outside Mayweather's home. Mayweather is now expected to plead no contest next week to a misdemeanor harassment charge in that case.
