Body of missing Wash. mom found wrapped in tarp

TACOMA, Wash. -- The body of an Orting mother of two, who went missing more than two weeks ago, has been found in the woods near Kapowsin.

The News Tribune reports search dogs led detectives Saturday to 28-year-old Nicole White's body, which had been wrapped in a tarp.

White was last seen June 6 leaving a bar in Spanaway, south of Tacoma, with a man she met through an online dating service. Her mother reported her missing the following day.

Her car was found over an embankment on a remote road near Graham, seven miles away from the bar, with the keys in the ignition shortly after she disappeared. Authorities said at the time they suspected she had been the victim of foul play.

Pierce County sheriff's spokesman, Ed Troyer, says the man White met at Jeepers Country Bar and Grill remains a person of interest. He is in Pierce County Jail on unrelated federal weapons charges.

A 12-hour search was conducted at his home after a warrant was served there, reports CBS affiliate KIRO.

Her vehicle was discovered a mile from his home, reports the station. The man reportedly has a criminal record, and last served time in 2011 for malicious mischief and DUI.

White's cause of death has yet to be determined.
