Body found in Virginia identified as missing mom
PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- A body found Wednesday in coastal Virginia has been confirmed to be that of Kathleen "Katie" Barham, 32, who went missing more than two weeks ago, reports CBS affiliate WTKR.
The Portsmouth mother of two disappeared while doing laundry in her apartment building.
Barham's family told the station that they had been calling Portsmouth Police for two weeks, but a detective wasn't assigned to the case until Monday.
The department said in a statement it's launching an internal review to determine the cause of the delay.
According to WTKR, her death is being considered suspicious. A cause of death has not yet been determined by the Medical Examiner.
