"Boardalk Empire" cast shares details on Season 2
(CBS) It's time for another trip to Atlantic City - "Boardwalk Empire" is returning for a second season this weekend.
Cast members from the hit HBO series spoke with CBSNews.com at the New York red carpet premiere of Season 2 and told us what's in store for Nucky and the rest of the gang this year.
Pictures: Steve Buscemi
Pictures: Emmy nominees 2011
"In a position that he's in, people either want to see him out of the way or gone," Buscemi said of his character, Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, who faces a barrage of legitimate and not-so-legitiamate opponents as the crooked boot-legging treasurer of Atlantic City. Among them is his former protege Jimmy, played by Michael Pitt, who hinted at a potentially big confrontation between the two.
"I think people...they're going to be very surprised and very shocked this season with what Jimmy has in store," Pitt said.
And while "Boardwalk Empire" is known for at times shocking imagery, Buscemi thinks that there's much more behind the series' success.
"I think that it's more than about the violence. It's a character-driven show and that's what people respond to," Buscemi pointed out, "Violence is sort of a by-product of that era...of Prohibition. But if it was just about violence, I don't think it would be an interesting show."

The second season of "Boardwalk Empire" premieres Sunday, Sept. 25th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
