In the ad, Lively is seen gazing into a mirror with a red patent Chanel handbag on her shoulder. The photo was shot by the label's designer, Karl Lagerfeld, at the company's Parisian headquarters.
According to the New York Times, Lively passed on other modeling opportunities in hopes of working with the fashion house.
"I had other opportunities and I would say, 'Thank you so much, but I am holding out for Chanel.' That's who I want to be the face of," she said. "And people would say, 'Well, that's unrealistic, they only hire Europeans,' and I said: 'Well, how great. I'll be the first then.'"
Her role with the brand was announced in January, when Lagerfeld called her "kind of an American dream girl."
"A dream come true is an understatement," the actress said at the time. "I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around."
