Black Eyed Peas concert in Central Park canceled
(CBS/AP) NEW YORK The cancellation of Black Eyed Peas' Thursday Central Park concert because of weather was either awesome or terrible, depending on your point of view. The benefit concert was called off because of severe thunderstorms.
The performance, which was expected to draw up to 60,000 spectators to the park's Great Lawn, was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, but was delayed an hour and then canceled all together because of the weather.
The concert to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation was also to feature appearances by Natasha Bedingfield, LL Cool J, Carole King, MC Hammer, and Debbie Harry.
A spokeswoman for the concert did not know if organizers plan to reschedule the event.
