Billy Graham in good spirits at NC hospital

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Officials say evangelist Billy Graham is in good spirits, watching television and joking with staff at the hospital where he's being treated for pneumonia.

A spokesman for Mission Hospital in Asheville says the 92-year-old preacher was listed in fair condition Thursday.

Dr. Shaw Henderson, a pulmonologist, says Graham's temperature is normal. Henderson is encouraging Graham to resume physical therapy and other normal daily activities.

No discharge date has been set for Graham, a confidant to presidents and one of the most famous Christian leaders of the last century.

Graham went to the hospital Wednesday after experiencing sweating, coughing and breathing problems. Graham spokesman Larry Ross says the evangelist was never in distress.

His son, Franklin Graham, is in North Korea and has no plans to return home now.
