Bill Murray returns to "Ghostbusters"
Actor Bill Murray still ain't afraid of no ghosts.
Murray will return to wildly successful comedy/action franchise "Ghostbusters" in the hotly anticipated reboot directed by Paul Feig, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Murray, whose role in the reboot is still unknown, starred as Dr. Peter Venkman in the original "Ghostbusters" in 1984 and the sequel, "Ghostbusters II," in 1989.
He will join fellow "Ghostbusters" alum Dan Aykroyd in revisiting the franchise. Aykroyd confirmed last month that he shot a scene for the upcoming film, according to Variety.
Next summer's "Ghostbusters" cast will look very different from that of its predecessors: The film stars a team of all-female Ghostbusters, comprising Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
In the past, Murray denied rumors of a "Ghostbusters 3," telling David Letterman in 2011: "I don't think -- it's just crazy talk."
The movie will also feature Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams and Neil Casey. It is set to release on July 22, 2016.
