NEW YORK (CBS) "The Biggest Loser" season finale went up against the final performances on "American Idol" and the finale of "Dancing with the Stars," but didn't come out on top.

The NBC reality show, which crowned Michael Ventrella as this season's winner, pulled in 9.9 million viewers Tuesday night, a 19 percent drop from last year's finale.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "American Idol" led the night's ratings, bringing in 19.6 million viewers who wanted to watch Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze sing against one another for the final time. However, the numbers were still a steep drop (23 percent) from the same-day finale last year.

The "Dancing with the Stars" season finale came in second place out of the three reality shows, pulling in 18.2 million viewers who watched Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough win the competition. Last spring's finale ratings for the ninth season were 27 percent higher.
