Beauty Queen Murder Mistrial No.2: Nona Dirksmeyer's Slaying Stymies Another Ark. Jury

Nona Dirksmeyer (David Clair) David Clair

(CBS/AP) Five years ago former Arkansas beauty queen Nona Dirksmeyer was attacked and fatally beaten in her Russellville apartment.

There is still no justice for her, as for a second time a judge has declared a mistrial for Gary Dunn, accused killer of the former Miss Arkansas contestant.

A jury foreman told Johnson County Circuit Court Judge Bill Pearson Friday night that the panel couldn't agree on a verdict. Pearson then declared a mistrial. The first mistrial for Dunn was in May 2010.

Despite the second mistrial, special prosecutor H.G. Foster told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the state will hold a third trial for Dunn.

But Dunn isn't the only man to be tried for Dirksmeyer's murder. In 2007, her boyfriend, Kevin Jones, was acquitted of the crime.

Dunn said nothing as he was led from the courthouse to an Arkansas State Police squad car.
