"Batman v Superman" London red carpet canceled after Brussels attacks
While this weekend's superhero blockbuster "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" made its international debut in London Tuesday night, the event's standard red carpet for the premiere was canceled at the last minute in light of the attacks in Brussels that morning.
"Our hearts go out to the victims of recent terrorist attacks, their families and the communities impacted around the world," a statement from Warner Bros. read. "Rather than yield to terror, we've decided to join the film's fans and move forward with the London premiere of 'Batman v. Superman' this evening."
Inside the theater, before the premiere screening began, director Zack Snyder asked those in attendance for a moment of silence before proceeding. "On behalf of Warner Bros, our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims and their families," Snyder said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "There is no way to express the sorry that we feel. Can we take a moment?"
