Documents obtained by the magazine reveal that Audi has applied for certification with the California Air Resources Board. These applications are necessary to demonstrate compliance with California's strict emission standards - a required right of passage for any vehicle hoping to come stateside.
Audi has previously confirmed that the hardtop version - the RS5 Coupe - is already heading to American shores.
The Volkwagen brand unveiled several new models at the Frankfurt auto show, but it was the RS5 that really caught the eyes of car fans. With 450-horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, delivered via Quattro all-wheel drive, the RS5 will soon be turning heads in American markets.
