Atlanta police helicopter crash kills 2 officers
ATLANTA Authorities say an Atlanta police helicopter with two people on board has crashed in a southwestern district of the city.
Police Chief George Turner said the helicopter went down about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of two major roads in the city, killing two officers on board.
A witness told CBS Atlanta that he saw the chopper clip what he thought were power lines before crashing.
A photographer for AP said power was blacked out near the crash site.
The helicopter crashed near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Southwest and Hamilton E. Holmes Drive Northwest. It went down on a side street next to a CVS parking lot located near the intersection, according to CBS Atlanta.
