Ashley Madekwe exiting "Revenge"

The British-accented, social-climbing two-timer Ashley Davenport (played by Ashley Madekwe) will scheme no more on ABC's "Revenge."

According to Deadline, the actress won't be back for the third season due to "storyline reasons" -- which sounds as purposely vague and fishy as the recent direction of the twisted plot of the show itself.

However, her seemingly-abrupt departure is not so out of character for the show at this point. Madekwe's termination is the latest in a string of "Revenge" shakeups, including the surprising death of Declan (Connor Paolo) in the season 2 finale, and most notably, the shocking departure of creator Mike Kelley. Executive producer Sunil Nayar will take over as showrunner next season.

We can at least assume that leading lady Emily VanCamp will be sticking around...though you never know at the rate they are going. Revenge after all, never truly dies.
