Ashley Biden, vice president's daughter, is engaged

(CBS) Vice President Joe Biden's youngest child, Ashley is engaged to be married to Dr. Howard Krein, a Philadelphia plastic surgeon, the vice president's office has announced.

Ashley, a 30-year-old social worker, also is the daughter of Dr. Jill Biden.

She and Krein got engaged in September but, according to The Washington Post, the news did not leak out until the vice president referred several times in a speech Friday to his "future son-in-law." His office later confirmed the news.

No wedding date has yet been announced.
